Operations Manager (DHL Supply Chain Belgium)

Primary purpose of the role:
- To manage the day-to-day operations of the Opglabbeek warehouse.
- To ensure the satisfactory achievement of the company's obligation to it's customers, contractual and other.
- Be aware of the broader commercial environment, build effective team and client relationships and contribute towards attracting new and additional business. In fulfilling the role, due attention must be paid to the varied demands of all the location's customers and the indirect requirements generated by the location's importance within the Healthcare Division.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Operational
- Construct, implement, monitor and control the budget and operational costs of all the contract activities so as to achieve location and customer's expectations.
- Plan, optimise and constantly review all the contract operations, with specific regard to the company's contractual obligations to it's customers.
- Monitor and review operational performance against agreed KPI's and SLA's.
2. People Management
- To recruit, train, develop and deploy all allocated staff within the agreed budget constraints.
- To utilise resources efficiently to improve productivity and create a culture of quality and ownership.
- To ensure all team members are properly trained.
- To set Key Objectives for your direct reports.
- To utilise resources efficiently to minimise overtime and agency labour to improve productivity.
- Manage and motivate a large team monitoring their sickness/absence and performance levels.
3. Commercial
Support the Site Manager in contract negotiations and ensure effectiveness in cost management.
4. Health & Safety
- Implement, regularly review and strictly enforce safe systems of working in the warehouse/office areas, ensuring full compliance with both site - specific and company policies, and all relevant government legislation within your areas of responsibility both physical area and staff.
- Take a leading role in taking the necessary actions to reduce number of work related incidents.
5. Maintenance & Housekeeping
Establish, implement and rigorously enforce a programme of housekeeping routines.
6. Projects
Assist in projects in relation to new and existing customers.
7. Budgetary Control
Operate within the pre agreed budgets for both revenue/cost/profit and manpower numbers for the area.
